"Who would come to Concord after a huge blizzard and why is the sled heading towards Plumbfield?" They wondered.
The sled stopped just in front of Plumbfield. Jo Riley who had seen the sled coming stood outside on the front porch. She was dress in a warm green wool sweater with a green skirt. She also had on a warm coat.
As she watched the sled out step a man dress in very expensive business suit like one, Laurie would wear. In the side of the sled sat a young girl who looked about the age of twelve. She had on a very expensive looking coat on. Jo noticed that girl had a look sadness in her hazel eyes. She also had dark brown hair. The girl's facials feature look very familiar to Jo. She realized a second later why the girl face looked familiar. She had a face similar to Nick's.
Suddenly the man started to speak. He said, "Hello I am look for a Mr. Nick Riley."
"I right here," a voice called out from the side of the house. Nick unexpectedly appeared in front of the house and shook the strange gentleman hand.
"Hello, Mr. Riley. My name is Ryan Martin," he said.
Jo came down the stairs and stood next to Nick. Nick introduced her to Mr. Martin.
"Perhaps you and your young companion would like to come inside and warm up after your long trip Mr. Martin," Jo said.
"That is really kind of you Mrs. Riley we would love to." He walked over to the sled and helped her out of it. Then he introduced her to Jo and Nick. Her name was Ruth.
" Is she your daughter?" Jo asked as they walked into the parlor.
"No, she actually my niece. She is also the reason why I here to talk to you Mr. Riley." He said as they all sat down. "How do I put this, she is really your daughter Mr. Riley."
Jo and Nick looked at Mr. Martin in shock. Both of them couldn't believe what they where hearing.
"What do you mean she my daughter?" Nick asked.
"Do you remember a young women by the Rebecca Martin, Mr. Riley" he asked.
"Yes," said Nick His voice was a little shake. Jo looked over at Fiona.
She was just sitting there staring into space. She had no expression on her face.
"She was my sister," Mr. Martin began. "As you probably remember you two where married to my grandmother found out and made you get an annulment. Well after the married was annulled it was found out that Rebecca was pregnant."
Jo could believe this was happen to her. Nick was married before and he didn't tell her. She wish this was just some horrible nightmare that she could wake up from but, it wasn't this was real happen to her. Mr. Martin voices cut threw her thoughts.
"9 months later Fiona was born," he said as he pointed to her "Rebecca want to tell you but, our grandmother refuse to let her even write to you. Finally when grandmother passed away she was free to tell you but, she became ill with Yellow fever. She pasted a way three months ago. She made promise on her death bed to find you and that is why I am here today." he said as he finished his tale. "And now I really must be on my way. So I leave you to take care of Fiona from now on seeking how I have kept my promise. I trust she will be in good hands," and with that he left. Fiona's bags where left on the front porch. Jo and Nick watched in terror as the sled took off down the road.
"You do realize he not coming back," a voice said from behind them. They turn around and standing there was none other then Fiona." I don't blame him either," she added."
Jo turned to Nick and said " Can I speak to you alone for a min."
"Sure," he said.
They walked into parlor and Jo closet the doors. I can't believe that you never told me your where married before Nick?" Jo said angrily.
" Actual because the married was annulled it concreted to have never taken place."

"Are you two fighting in there," a voice asked. Suddenly Fiona popped in thru the parlor door.
"We're not fighting," they said in unison.
"Sure sounds like it to me," she said with a big grin on her face.
"Well we weren't." Jo said.
"Well it looks like I have to take your word on it."
"Why don't we take your bags to your room?" Nick said.
"O.K.!' she said "So why is the place called Plumfield," she asked as they walled down the hall to a empty bedroom.
"I not for sure," Jo said. "I inherited this house from my great aunt."
"Wow she must of really liked you," Fiona said.
"Not really , my great aunt always liked my sister Amy better then me, In fact the only reason I think she even left Plumfield to me was to make up for taken Amy to Europe instead of me."
By this time they had made it to the bedroom. Nick said down Fiona bags "You don't have a lot belongs," he said.
"The rest are coming by train," she told him.
"Well, we better leave you to unpack your bags," Jo said and they left. Jo kind had to drag Nick out of the room. So Fiona was left alone in her new bedroom. She start right away to up pack her belongs.
Meanwhile in the parlor Nick was tell Jo the whole story about how he had meet Fiona's mother. Just then Fiona head popped in the parlor again. "I'm done unpacking," she said. Just then the front door open and in came a group of young students. Most of them where the same age as Fiona. They had spent the day down at Walden pond skating.
"That would be the other children," Jo told Fiona.
"Other children?" Fiona said surprised and puzzled at the same time.
"Yes, I forgot to mention Plumbfield was a school.
She introduced Fiona to the others. There was Mathew, James, Christina, Sean, Anya, and finally there was Jo's son Rob. After they had all be introduced they start to ask Fiona all kinds of questions. Rob asked Fiona if she was related to Nick.
"Yes, I am," she said.
Then Nick told the children about How she was his daughter. By the time he was done tell everyone how he meat Fiona's mother and how they got married it was time for supper. They all sat down in the dinning room. Fiona looked around the table at all the friendly face around her. She knew she had found a new place to call home.
